Imagination Movers Brighten My Day!

I’ve been really stressed out here lately, with all that’s been going on around here.  Leave it to Disney Channel’s Imagination Movers to cheer me up.  I’ve actually posted about them before.  They used to only do music videos in between other shows, but now they have their own show on the Disney Channel.  And I have to say, these dudes are hilarious!  Today, the kids and I watched one of their new episodes I recorded for them called, “Bad Hair Day”.  I’ve never laughed so hard, and believe me, I needed it.  So if you are looking for a great kids show that even us parents will enjoy, this is the one.  They are like the American version of the Wiggles…but better I think.  And they are from New Orleans, which makes them even cooler for me.  Amongst the four them, you have a music-instrumentalist, an elementary school teacher, an architect, and a New Orleans Firefighter that was part of the Hurricane Katrina search-and-rescue effort. And from what I understand, 3 out of 4 of them lost their homes during Hurricane Katrina. The more I read about these guys, the more impressed I am. Unfortunately, there aren’t any clips out yet of any of their new episodes, but there are plenty of the music videos.  Here’s a video of their theme song.

SafetyTat – Just In Case – Safety Tattoos For Your Kids

My SIL sent me an email this morning. She had come across this great website that sells temporary tattoos you put on your child. It lists your phone number in case they get lost. They even have tattoos that alert someone caring for your child about your child’s medical condition or allergies, such as “Allergic to Nuts”, “I’m Autistic” or “I’m Diabetic”. Here’s some more info from the SafetyTat website:

It can happen anywhere—at an amusement park, zoo, school field trip, or even your local shopping mall. Your attention shifts for a moment, and suddenly your child or loved one has wandered out of sight.

So put the odds in your favor for a safe return, with SafetyTat. Designed by a Mom of three kids, SafetyTat is a fun and colorful kids temporary safety tattoo that’s uniquely personalized with your cell phone number. When applied to the arm of your child or loved one, SafetyTat provides an immediate, highly visible form of identification that stays in place even when wet and lasts for days.

SafetyTat—it’s the perfect way to show how much you care, just in case.

This is such a great idea! Being a parent of an autistic child, this would definitely help ease our fears, if heaven forbid, anything were to ever happen.
