My 6 Year Old Son’s Latest Drawing

As always, a picture of the casino riverboat that my husband works for.  He’s definitely got a 3-dimensional effect going on in this one.

American Idol Contestant Michael Johns Eliminated??

I just don’t get this. It’s not that I thought that he would win, although, I had really hoped that he would atleast make the final 2 or even final 3. It’s because there are 2 other people that I thought should have left before him. Carly and Syesha were much more deserving of elimination I thought. Oh well…I think that Michael Johns definitely has a future in this business. He could even be the next Chris Daughtry, and look what that boy’s done!

A Recent Drawing from My 6 Year Old

Drawn at school, and they had it displayed for a while. We just got it back a few weeks ago. It’s a picture of some riverboats with the Mississippi River Bridge in the background. He’s actually kind of stopped drawing lately, and it kind of has me bummed. I had wondered if he would ever lose interest. He’s really into Thomas the Tank Engine now (that’s his new obsession). Every now and then, he’ll draw something.

My Boy Made Headlines!!

…well not really headlines, but his picture was featured in our local newspaper for the drawing contest that he won right before Christmas Here’s the picture that was in the paper:

Christopher Won His First Art Contest! - Updated Pic!!

About a month ago, all of the students in the school district, including the Kindergarten, were given the opportunity to create a Christmas Card with some kind of Christmas scene. Well…the other day, Christopher’s teacher informed me that he had won the contest for his school, and he was one out of ten students that were chosen for the entire school district. He and the other students’ Christmas card artwork will be used on the school district’s 2007 Christmas Cards that will be sent out all over the state of Mississippi and to the President of the U.S. They also invited us to attend their weekly school board meeting last week, where Christopher was recognized and given a Christmas stocking full of goodies. He was so excited, and I was so proud of him, because he really behaved himself and sat still at the board meeting, and then walked up to receive his reward all by himself. I could have cried, my little boy is growing up! Hopefully, next week, they will be giving us the artwork back, so I can post it. It’s a Christmas tree, with Garfield dressed up in a Santa’s suit, of course.
