Ok…just a little quick update on what’s been going on lately. Several new developments with my husband’s job situation. He is no longer working in Baton Rouge, he was offered a position with a brand new casino in a town about an hour away from here. Turns out that this particular town has an excellent school with specific classes designed for Autistic children. So we just might be moving there. We are just still unsure of the job and how much he will be making. In his line of work, his income fluctuates, which can be a little frustrating and stressful at times. Especially, when business is not that great.
In the meantime, when he decided that Baton Rouge wasn’t for us, he also put in an application at the local Fire Department. They are hiring firefighters, and this is something that he has always wanted to do. It’s actually in a town that is across the river from ours, which is basically still the same town in a way. I’ve been told that they too have a wonderful school system, and great special education services. He has already had one interview that went very well, and is going today for his second interview. He really wants to do this, and I’m all for it. He feels like he needs to get out of the casino industry. You just never know what can happen with it, and he wants something more stable and a career he can be proud of. We just still aren’t sure about how much the job pays, but he will find out more about that today. The shifts are 48 on and 24 off, or 24 on, and 48 off. The way it works out, he will get overtime. He’ll be required to stay at the fire station the entire time he is on shift, so that will be interesting.
So, hopefully, we will know something next week. Either way, we’ve got a better school option for Christopher, and for me that’s our top priority. I’m just ready to make a decision and move forward.
As you can see, it’s been quite a while since I’ve blogged about my life. I guess I’ve just lost the desire to blog here recently. I’ve been through this before, and I’ve come out of it. Hopefully, I will this time too. So be patient with me, hopefully I’ll be back soon.
