Today we are taking Allie and Christopher to meet their teachers today and drop off school supplies. Allie we be going back to the same school (Pre-K and Kindergarten), but Christopher goes to a diffrent school (1st and 2nd Grade) this year. Of course, I’ve already heard, “I don’t want to go to school!” a jillion times, but yesterday I drove by the school and we got to find out who his teacher was (the one I’d hoped he would be placed with, Yay!), and I think he started to get a little excited.
So today, we are heading on over to Allie’s school to drop off supplies and meet her new teacher, then off to Christopher’s school to drop off supplies and meet his teacher. Supposedly his teacher is great with Autistic children, and she comes highly recommended and very well spoken of by his previous teacher from Kindergarten last year. So I’m excited, and can’t wait to meet her!
I’m a little nervous about meeting Allie’s teacher, we’ve had some major behavioral issues with her this summer, and she’s STILL not potty trained! She asbsolutely refuses to have anything to do with it. So I’m definitely embarrassed about that, fortunately they still allow her to go to school, because she is in SPED. They tried working with her last year, but eventually gave up, seriously, that’s how stubborn she is about it. Believe me, I’ve tried everything. And she is so smart, she knows she is suppose to, but just refuses.
Even though, Christopher was late being potty trained too, he had just turned four and with him, we just put him in underpants and he held it all day long until he coulndn’t anymore, and finally did it in the potty. Then we made such a HUGE deal about it, he thought that was cool, and from that point on, would go all by himself. It just clicked. Allie could care less if she goes in her pants, doesn’t bother her one bit.
Oh well…maybe this year will be a better year. I know one thing, I absolutely refuse to have a 5 year old that is not potty trained come April of next year, that’s for damn sure.

Having worked in a preschool, sometimes a different person can make the difference in a child deciding to potty train. Hopefully that will be the case here. Hope the kids have a great school year. We homeschool and start back in 2 weeks. High school is so much different than those early years were.

Boy, I sure feel for you where the potty training is concerned. I am so NOT looking forward to starting the whole potty training thing with my toddler. I remember how hard it was with Dylan. He didn’t get fully potty-trained until 4. UGGH!!!
