Ok…I’m not going to claim that I am an expert at creating Wordpress blog designs, but since I’ve started blogging, I have developed an interest in creating my own designs. I mainly take a basic template and manipulate it to come up with a look that I like, by changing color codes, formatting and I create my own header using images that I’ve purchased through iStockphoto.
Well, a few weeks ago, one of my good friends and I were chatting online and she was talking about her love life, and I said, “You know, you should start a blog where you talk about nothing but your love life and being a single girl.” She thought it was a great idea! So we both got really excited, and starting brainstorming ideas for the name of the blog, and we came up with The Date Girl Diaries. And…so it was born. She immediately registered the domain, and I began to work on her blog design. She really is doing a phenomenal job keeping it updated with some very interesting stories. She is such a talented writer. I wish I could tell you who she is, but she has decided to keep the author of the blog anonymous, which makes perfect sense.
So go check it out! And be sure to start from the beginning and read her first post and work your way up, because I wouldn’t want you to miss out on anything from this “Real Life Soap Opera”.

iStockPhoto is a great place to find vector illustrations and photographs.
You can also find free images on Flickr, just be sure to search for images with the appropriate Creative Commons license.
I’m an iStock contributor and I’m telling you this!
