Update On Life With the Family

I’m making a vow to myself to post more on here. I’ve kind of neglected this blog, and I promise to do better. Just wanted to post a quick update on how things are going.

We got our tax refund last month, and that was nice. We were able to get a lot of things paid off and bills caught up. So, that felt really good. It’s almost gone though.

But Steven and I did manage to get a chance to go out to eat and celebrate our 13th Anniversary on the 20th of January. We went to one of our favorite restaurants, the King’s Tavern, very rustic, dark and romantic. It also has a very neat history behind it. There we managed to run up an $80 bill. (May not seem a lot to some, but it is to us) We both ordered appetizers, Fried Mushrooms and Coconut Shrimp, an entree, Steak and shrimp, and we shared a Strawberry Cheescake desert. Needless to say, my stomach wasn’t used to eating that much food anymore, so I paid for it dearly. But we had a great time and it was soooo nice to get out and do something together without the kids.

The kids are doing great in school, both Christopher and Allie made the honor roll last semester. Allie is still the little “star” of her class. Her teacher says she think she might become an Opera Singer when she grows up, with all the singing she does. Christopher has really gotten into his routine and loves school now. Oh, every now and then, I get the occasional, “I don’t wanna go to school!”, but once he gets there, he is just fine. He has really gotten attached to his SPED Assistant Teacher, Ms. Brandi. He has even told me, on more than one occasion, that he wants to go live with “Ms. Brandi”. His teachers say that he is doing great! Everyone is so impressed with his drawings, his teacher wants to enter him in a contest to do a poster board that focuses on water conservation. She really believes he might win his grade division.

Faith and Emma are just absolutely doing so great! Faith is now walking all over the place and Emma has now started semi-crawling. She has kind of figured out a way to put her hands down, and then just scoots on her little bottom. It’s so funny, we call it, doing the “Booty Scoot”.

Well, that’s about it. Hopefully, I’ll get around to posting more. Now I’m off to go change a couple of poop diapers and get a 3 year old out of trouble!
